Early Game: First Money and First Tool
Destructoid's walkthrough (updated October 26, 2026) suggests a simple early order:
- Clean roughly the first 15 sections with the toothbrush and sell all of that dust.
- Buy the nail brush next and use it for a long stretch; it is much faster than the toothbrush.
- Untangle flags ($100 each) and clear survey sites ($250 each) for one-time cash.
- Stay close to your starting station so delivery trips stay short. See depot placement.
Mid Game: Build a Factory You Can Power
The Construction Tool (hammer) opens factory production. The usual core is Stone Presses feeding Pressure Chambers; Destructoid's suggested ratio is two Pressure Chambers with four to six Stone Presses.
Power comes first. A Pressure Chamber needs 10 kW, and a Solar Post gives about 3 kW, so plan four posts per chamber. Before buying any machine, decide where its output goes; a stalled belt usually starts further down the line. The Packager checklist covers common stoppages.
Upgrades That Pay Back
Economy upgrades raise every later sale, so most guides buy them before anything else. Destructoid names these as worth taking:
- Economy: Market Contracts, Section Bonus, Supplier Network, Moon Exchange.
- Vehicles: Tuned Engine, Quick Emptying, Large Bunker Suction Control.
- Late game: keep adding JOONAS units until you can afford the Mega Vacuum Cleaner.
Co-op and Quality-of-Life Tips
Since patch 1.0.3 the host's Upgrade Matrix is shared with the whole crew, so agree on one shopping list. The host can kick or ban players from the ESC menu under Your Crew. Everyone must be on the same game version to join.
Press H to open the Field Manual for the current sector scan. Before trying mods or big rebuilds, copy your world first; the save location guide shows where it lives.
