Moon Sweepers Co-op Not Working: Verified Next Steps

No Moon Sweepers-specific co-op bug or official fix has been verified yet. First make sure every player actually has access to the released game on Steam. After that, Steam's own file verification and network checks are the right general diagnostics, although they are not guaranteed to fix a game-specific problem.

Co-op Troubleshooting at a Glance

These steps come from Steam's official support pages and the game's official listing. They are general diagnostics, not a confirmed Moon Sweepers fix. Work through them in order.

  • Check that every player has access to the released game.
  • Write down the exact error and each player's game build.
  • Check whether solo play launches normally.
  • Verify the integrity of the game files in Steam.
  • Use Steam's network troubleshooting if Steam itself is affected.
  • Report anything unresolved on the official Steam discussions.

Step 1: Confirm Everyone Can Access the Game

At our October 22, 2026 check, Moon Sweepers was still listed on Steam as coming soon. Its planned release date was October 23, 2026. If the game is not yet available to a player, no connection fix will help.

Every player needs the Steam version on a Windows PC. No console version exists, so there is no crossplay to set up. Make sure each person owns and has installed the game.

Step 2: Record the Exact Error and Builds

Write down the exact error message, if one appears. Note what each player was doing when the problem happened. A screenshot is even better.

Check that every player is on the same game build. Steam updates games automatically, but an update may still be pending for someone. Mismatched builds are worth ruling out before anything else.

Step 3: Check Whether Solo Play Works

Launch the game alone, since Steam lists single-player support. If solo play also fails, the problem is probably not co-op. It may be an installation or launch issue instead.

If solo works but co-op does not, note which player hosted and which tried to join. That detail matters when you report the problem. It helps separate a network issue from a game bug.

Step 4: Verify the Game Files in Steam

Steam can check an installed game for damaged or missing files. In your Steam Library, open Moon Sweepers' Properties, choose Installed Files and run the file integrity verification. Steam will re-download anything that fails the check.

This checks your installation, nothing more. It does not prove that a network problem exists, and it does not guarantee that joining will work. Ask every player in the crew to run it.

Step 5: Use Steam's Network Troubleshooting

If Steam itself is having trouble connecting, use Valve's Troubleshooting Network Connectivity page. Valve recommends isolating the problem, including checking your connection. Where possible, it suggests testing a wired connection.

These checks are about Steam's connection, not a Moon Sweepers server. Work through them on each affected player's machine. If Steam connects fine but co-op still fails, move to the next step.

Should You Open Ports or Disable Security Software?

We have not found any official Moon Sweepers port requirement. We will not invent port numbers. Opening random ports is not a verified fix.

We also do not recommend disabling your security software as a blanket fix. That is not something the official sources advise for this game. Wait for a developer-confirmed workaround instead.

Step 6: Report the Problem Properly

The official Steam discussions are the place to report an unresolved co-op problem. The topic list we inspected did not contain a verified connection fix. A clear report helps the developer reproduce the issue.

Include the exact error, your build and the steps that cause it. Say who hosted, who joined and whether solo works. Add any logs or screenshots you can.

Protect Your Saves

Do not delete save files as a troubleshooting step. No official source recommends it, and you could lose progress you cannot recover. Keep working saves safe while you diagnose.

Save ownership in co-op was not verified, so it is unclear whose save is affected by a failed session. That is another reason to be cautious. Wait for official guidance before changing any files by hand.

Why There Is No Specific Fix Yet

We found no reproducible Moon Sweepers connection defect in the sources we checked. The keyword-specific video search returned no results, and the trailers contain no troubleshooting steps. The official listing has no error-code guide.

A real fix needs a repeatable symptom on the released build. It also needs a developer reply or patch note to compare against. We will add a specific fix when both exist.

What We Still Need to Know

A game-specific fix depends on details we do not have yet. These are the facts we will look for after release. Each will be dated and tied to a build.

  • The exact error message.
  • The affected build or version.
  • The host and client setups.
  • Whether solo play launches.
  • Reproducible steps.
  • Logs.
  • A developer-confirmed workaround.

Official Moon Sweepers Channels

DragDrop Games is listed on Steam as both the developer and the publisher of Moon Sweepers. The official channels we could verify are the Steam store page, the Steam community discussions and the MoonSweepers YouTube channel. Patch notes and fixes would most likely appear there first.

Steam's website field for the game points to a Discord server, but we could not verify that invite. We therefore do not link it on this site. Use the Steam discussions for bug reports.

If the Game Will Not Install or Update

Sometimes a co-op problem starts with a broken download or a stuck update. Valve's Update & Installation Issues page covers diagnostics for the Steam client. Use it if the game will not download, update or launch.

Once the game installs and updates cleanly on every machine, try co-op again. A matching build for every player is the goal. Our download page explains the official install route.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does verifying files guarantee a fix?

No. It checks your installation for damaged files. It does not guarantee that co-op will connect.

Should I open router ports or disable security software?

No official port requirement exists, and disabling security software is not a verified fix.

Is there an official fix for Moon Sweepers co-op?

No developer-confirmed fix was found in the sources we checked.

Can PS5 or Xbox players join a PC session?

No console version has been announced, so console players cannot join. Every player needs the Steam version on Windows PC.
