Moon Sweepers Depots: Dust Delivery and Shipments

Depots in Moon Sweepers are the delivery points in the dust-selling loop. You bring your collected lunar dust to a depot and launch shipments from it to get paid. The developer also says depots can be placed near your active work, which shortens each delivery run.

Depots at a Glance

Depots connect your cleaning work to your income. The developer's Steam description confirms these points. The sections below explain each one.

  • Depots are where you deliver collected dust.
  • Shipments are launched from depots.
  • Launching a shipment is how you get paid.
  • Depots can be placed near the area you are cleaning.
  • Depot capacity, cost and timers were not verified.

Where Depots Fit in the Loop

Moon Sweepers starts you with a toothbrush and a dusty lunar surface. You clean the terrain and collect dust until your storage fills. The depot is the next stop for that load.

From the depot, the dust goes out as a shipment, and the shipment earns you money. That money pays for better tools and more carrying capacity. Depots are the link between work and progress.

Delivering Dust

Delivery is the step where you bring collected dust to a depot. The developer's description names delivery and shipment separately. They are related, but they are not the same action.

We have not verified the interaction key used at a depot. We also have not verified how much dust a depot can hold. Those details will be added after testing the released game.

Launching Shipments to Get Paid

Shipments are how dust becomes money. The developer describes launching shipments from depots as the step that pays you. A delivery on its own is not described as a sale.

The shipment interface and the payout timing were not verified. We have not seen a shipment timer in any official material. Our how to make money page tracks the earning details.

Placing Depots Near Your Work

The developer says depots can be placed near the area you are working in. That means you are not stuck walking back to one fixed point. A closer depot shortens every round trip.

The placement menu, the cost and any terrain restrictions were not verified. We also do not know if there is a limit on how many depots you can have. Our depot placement page covers placement in detail.

Depots and Carrying Capacity

Your carrying capacity decides how often you visit a depot. The developer links increased capacity to handling larger jobs between deliveries. More capacity means fewer depot runs for the same amount of dust.

Player capacity and depot storage are different things. We have not verified a separate depot-storage upgrade system. Our storage upgrades page explains that distinction.

Depots in Co-op

Moon Sweepers supports online co-op for up to 16 players. The store describes crews working in separate areas or cleaning together. Depots placed near each work area fit both styles.

We have not verified who can place, use or move depots in a co-op session. We also have not verified whether shipment money is shared. Our multiplayer page will add those details once confirmed.

Planning Your Delivery Runs

Without official numbers, the best approach is to watch your own trips. Notice how long it takes to walk from your work area to the depot. If that walk is a large part of each cycle, a closer depot is worth considering.

This is planning advice based on the confirmed proximity rule. It is not a tested layout or a measured time saving. We will add tested layouts once we can reproduce them.

Depot Details Still Unconfirmed

The official description explains what depots are for, not how to operate them. These details need testing in the released build. We list them here so nothing is presented as fact too early.

  • The cost of a depot.
  • The input used to place one.
  • Depot storage capacity.
  • The shipment interface.
  • When payment arrives.
  • Whether depots can be moved.
  • Co-op permissions for depots.

Depots and Cleaning Vehicles

Cleaning vehicles become usable as your operation develops. They are part of the same cleanup operation that depots support. How vehicles interact with depots was not verified.

We do not know whether vehicles deliver directly to depots or need special access. We also do not know if depot placement must allow for vehicles. Our cleaning vehicles page will add that once tested.

Common Depot Mistakes

The most common mistake is stopping at delivery. The developer describes launching a shipment as the step that pays you. Make shipping part of every depot visit.

Another mistake is leaving your depot far from where you are cleaning. Depots can be placed near your work, and a long walk adds time to every load. Finally, do not assume depot storage upgrades exist, because none were verified.

Official Moon Sweepers Channels

DragDrop Games is listed on Steam as both the developer and the publisher of Moon Sweepers. The official channels we could verify are the Steam store page, the Steam community discussions and the MoonSweepers YouTube channel. Patch notes and announcements that change the loop would most likely appear there first.

Steam's website field for the game points to a Discord server, but we could not verify that invite. We therefore do not link it on this site. The Steam discussions are also the right place to report bugs, since we cannot fix the game itself.
