What Is Confirmed, and What Is Still Untested?
There are three separate questions: whether the developer addresses Proton bugs, whether Valve has rated the game, and how well it performs on your device. The patch answers the first; the rating endpoint answers the second. Neither provides a frame-rate or battery-life benchmark.
- Version 1.0.4: developer reports a fix for startup issues with older Proton versions.
- Valve compatibility category: Unknown (0) at our October 25 check.
- Controller support: full controller support in Steam app details.
- Native Linux build: not listed. Proton runs the Windows version.
- Our own Deck benchmark: none; no verified graphics preset or FPS claim.
If Moon Sweepers Will Not Launch on Steam Deck
First let Steam finish updating Moon Sweepers to 1.0.4 or later. The developer identifies a Proton startup fix in that version, so troubleshooting an older build may miss the published fix.
If startup still fails, use Steam's file-integrity check and restart the Steam client. These are general Steam checks, not a guaranteed game-specific cure. Record the game version, SteamOS version, selected Proton version and exact error before reporting the problem in the official discussions. Avoid replacing the game's executable with a third-party fix.
Controller Support Does Not Establish Performance
A full controller-support flag describes input support. It does not certify readable text, a particular frame rate, suspend-and-resume behavior or battery life on Deck. Check the live compatibility panel on Steam for a later Valve rating.
We do not recommend a particular Proton version or graphics preset without a reproducible test. If you already own the game, test a small solo world before a large co-op base so you can describe where any problem appears.
Co-op, Linux and Other Platforms
The 1.0.3 notes require all crewmates to use the same version for multiplayer. Update every player's copy before investigating a connection issue. See multiplayer and the co-op connection checklist.
A Proton-related fix does not announce a native Linux or macOS version. The Switch page covers Nintendo handhelds separately; the download guide links to the official Windows edition.
