Storage Upgrades at a Glance
The word storage can mean two different things in Moon Sweepers. Only one of them has a confirmed upgrade. Here is the distinction.
- Confirmed: your collected dust fills storage while you work.
- Confirmed: carrying capacity can be increased with earnings.
- Not verified: a separate depot-storage upgrade system.
- Not verified: unlimited storage of any kind.
- Not verified: exact storage numbers or units.
Two Kinds of Storage
Player storage is what you carry while cleaning. Depot storage would be what a depot can hold once you deliver. Guides sometimes mix them up.
The developer's text mentions filling storage and improving carrying capacity. It does not describe an independent building-storage tree. So the confirmed upgrade is on the player side.
The Confirmed Upgrade: Carrying Capacity
Increased carrying capacity is a confirmed use of your earnings. The developer links it to handling larger jobs between deliveries. More capacity means fewer trips to a depot.
Starting capacity, maximum and costs were not verified. Our carrying capacity page covers this upgrade in detail. It also lists the values we still need to test.
Depot Storage Upgrades Are Not Confirmed
We found no evidence of a separate depot-storage upgrade system. The official description names no depot storage tiers. The GamesFinity launch report confirms carrying capacity progression, but not depot tiers or a second upgrade currency.
We also could not verify how much a depot holds in the first place. If the released game includes depot upgrades, we will add a dedicated section. Until then, we do not present them as a feature.
Why the Distinction Matters
Mixing the two up can lead to bad purchase decisions. A bigger depot would not let you carry more while cleaning. More carrying capacity would not change what a depot holds.
If a guide tells you to upgrade storage, check which kind it means. Ask whether it shows the upgrade screen in the released game. Only carrying capacity is confirmed so far.
How Storage Fits the Dust Loop
You clean dusty terrain and collected dust fills your storage. When storage is full, you deliver to a depot. From there, you launch a shipment to get paid.
Storage decides how often you make that trip. That is why capacity is a key upgrade. Our collect lunar dust page explains the full cycle.
Storage, Depots and Placement
Delivery distance matters as much as storage size. The developer says depots can be placed near your work. A closer depot reduces the cost of a small storage limit.
Which helps more has not been measured. Consider both when your trips start to feel long. Our depot placement page covers the confirmed rule.
What Happens When Storage Is Full?
A full storage is your signal to deliver. The developer describes storage filling, then delivery to a depot. That sequence is confirmed.
Overflow behaviour and any loss of dust were not verified. We also do not know whether stored dust persists between sessions. We will add those details after testing.
Storage Details Still Unconfirmed
These details need the released game before we can publish them. Each will be tied to a build version. We list them here so nothing is presented as fact too early.
- The exact in-game storage terms.
- Inventory limits versus depot limits.
- Separate building upgrades.
- Overflow behaviour.
- Item loss.
- Persistence between sessions.
Official Moon Sweepers Channels
DragDrop Games is listed on Steam as both the developer and the publisher of Moon Sweepers. The official channels we could verify are the Steam store page, the Steam community discussions and the MoonSweepers YouTube channel. Equipment changes and patch notes would most likely appear there first.
Steam's website field for the game points to a Discord server, but we could not verify that invite. We therefore do not link it on this site. Player posts on any channel are reports, not official statements, unless a developer identity is confirmed.
Common Storage Mistakes
The most common mistake is assuming depot storage upgrades exist. No separate depot-storage system was verified. The confirmed upgrade is carrying capacity.
Another mistake is trusting storage numbers that have no source. No capacity value, maximum or unit has been published. If a guide quotes one, ask which build it measured and whether it shows the upgrade screen.
Why Equipment Details Are Still Missing
At our October 22, 2026 check, Moon Sweepers was still listed on Steam as coming soon, with a planned release on October 23, 2026. The equipment details players want most come from playing the released build. Official descriptions and trailers only cover the broad systems.
Pre-release footage can also differ from the final game. That is why we do not read item stats from trailers. Once the game is out, we will test equipment directly and date every value we add.
Storage in Co-op
Moon Sweepers supports online co-op for up to 16 players. The store describes crews working in separate areas or cleaning together. Each player still has to deliver collected dust to a depot.
We have not verified whether storage or capacity upgrades are shared in co-op. We also do not know who owns depots in a shared session. Our multiplayer page will add those details once confirmed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a bigger depot increase player carrying capacity?
No such link is described. Carrying capacity and depot storage are separate, and only carrying capacity upgrades are confirmed.
Are depot storage upgrades confirmed?
No. A separate depot-storage upgrade system was not verified.
Is there unlimited storage in Moon Sweepers?
Unlimited storage is not described in the official materials. Your storage fills as you collect, which sends you to a depot.
How do I upgrade storage?
The confirmed option is a carrying capacity upgrade bought with dust earnings. The exact menu was not verified.
Can I lose dust if storage is full?
Overflow behaviour and item loss were not verified. We will add them after testing.
Does storage persist between sessions?
Persistence was not verified in the official materials.
Should I buy capacity or a closer depot first?
Neither has been measured against the other. Both reduce time spent on delivery runs, so check which part of your cycle is slowest.
