Moon Sweepers Multiplayer at a Glance
The player count and modes are confirmed by the developer's Steam listing. Networking details are not. Here is the split.
- Online co-op: up to 16 players in total.
- Solo play: supported.
- Crew styles: work in separate areas or clean together.
- Platform: Windows PC on Steam.
- Not confirmed: split-screen, crossplay, dedicated servers or host migration.
- Not confirmed: shared money, unlocks or save ownership.
How Many Players Can Join?
The official description supports online co-op for up to 16 players. That number is the total crew size, not 16 guests plus a host. A GamesFinity launch report and Neogames Finland's Weekly News 42/26 both agree on the 16-player scale.
A teaser upload also repeats the multiplayer scale in its description. All of these sources trace back to the same announcement. Together they confirm the number, not how lobbies work.
Can You Play Moon Sweepers Solo?
Yes, Steam lists single-player support alongside online co-op. You can start the job alone with a toothbrush and build up from there. Co-op is optional, not required.
The core loop is the same either way. You clean, collect dust, deliver it to a depot and launch shipments to get paid. Our Moon Sweepers guide explains each confirmed step.
How Co-op Crews Work Together
The store describes two ways to play as a crew. Players can spread out and work in separate areas, or clean the same area together. Both styles use the same collect, deliver and ship loop.
Splitting up may suit a large crew covering more ground. Cleaning together may suit a smaller group tackling one area. This is a choice for your group, not a rule from the developer.
Hosting and Joining a Session
The steps to create a lobby, send invites or join a session have not been verified. Neither selected video description includes a host or join walkthrough. We do not publish menu steps we have not seen.
We also could not confirm join-in-progress or privacy controls. Those details need the released game. We will add a tested walkthrough once the menus can be captured.
Split-Screen and Local Co-op
Moon Sweepers is advertised with online co-op. We found no confirmation of split-screen or local co-op. Online co-op and split-screen are different features, and only the online mode is confirmed.
If split-screen matters to your group, wait for official confirmation. Check the features listed on the Steam store page before buying. We will update this page if local play is confirmed.
Crossplay and Platforms
The only verified platform is Windows PC on Steam. No PS5 or Xbox version has been announced. That means there is no confirmed crossplay with consoles.
Every player in your crew needs the Steam version on a Windows PC. Our PS5 and Xbox pages track any console news. Crossplay details would need an official announcement first.
Servers, Hosting and Host Migration
We have not verified whether Moon Sweepers uses dedicated servers or player hosting. Host migration, where a session survives the host leaving, was not confirmed either. The GamesFinity report made hosting assumptions, and we have excluded them.
These details affect how reliable long sessions are. They also affect what happens if the host disconnects. We will add them once confirmed by the developer or by testing.
If Co-op Will Not Connect
No Moon Sweepers-specific connection fix has been verified. Start by making sure every player actually has access to the released game on Steam. Then work through Steam's general checks.
Our co-op not working page covers file verification and Steam network checks. It also explains how to report a problem with useful details. Those steps are diagnostics, not guaranteed fixes.
Multiplayer Details Still Unconfirmed
These are the co-op details players ask about most. None were answered in the sources we checked. We will add each one with a date and build number once confirmed.
- Lobby creation steps.
- Invites.
- Join-in-progress.
- Privacy controls.
- Host migration.
- Save ownership.
- Shared unlocks and money.
- Dedicated servers.
Official Moon Sweepers Channels
DragDrop Games is listed on Steam as both the developer and the publisher of Moon Sweepers. The official channels we could verify are the Steam store page, the Steam community discussions and the MoonSweepers YouTube channel. Multiplayer announcements would most likely appear there first.
Steam's website field for the game points to a Discord server, but we could not verify that invite. We therefore do not link it on this site. The Steam discussions are the place to look for other players and to report co-op bugs.
Why Some Co-op Details Must Wait
At our October 22, 2026 check, Moon Sweepers was still listed on Steam as coming soon, with a planned release on October 23, 2026. Lobby menus, invites and save behaviour only become testable once the game is out. The official description covers features, not menus.
We would rather leave a gap than publish steps that turn out to be wrong. Every detail we add later will name the build it was tested on. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last checked.

No. The official description supports online co-op for up to 16 players in total.
Can Moon Sweepers be played solo?
Yes. Steam lists single-player support alongside online co-op.
Are crossplay and split-screen confirmed?
